Check out this special edition yacht-inspired Mercedes-Maybach S-Class

This is a special edition Mercedes-Maybach S680 inspired by [checks notes] some silverware. Well, sort of.

The navy and red combo is nautically themed, inspired by a wooden yacht built in 1939 and restored by Oliver Berking, of Robbe and Berking silver. You might not know the name, but you’ve probably used the cutlery. It started trading in 1874, and this S-Class has been crafted to commemorate 150 years of the silver manufactory doing business.

Inside the Maybach, there’s white, diamond-quilted nappa leather embroidered with grey stitching. The walnut trim is accented with aluminium strips, which Mercedes reckons has some aesthetic similarities with a ‘ship’s deck’. Further inside, there’s also the small matter of the Maybach’s rather large, not-at-all standard-fit 600-horsepower V12.

And because this is a Maybach, it obviously comes with a Burmester audio suite, rear-seat entertainment, cushions, electric comfort doors and a fridge with silver-plated champagne goblets made by, er, Robbe and Berking. See? Synergy.

Like the boat, AKA Sphinx, the red and white bodywork of the S680 is separated with a classy filigree pinstripe in opalite white, matching the yacht’s white waterline.

There’s no word on price for this unique article because the one-off is already spoken for. Of course.
