Performing handsomely with 250cc, eight-valve, liquid-cooled, DOHC, parallel twin- cylinder engine. It now delivers a maximum output of 31kW at 13,000rpm and 25Nm of torque at 11,000rpm, marking a 1kW increase over the previous model. These improvements ensure more power and an exhilarating ride for enthusiasts who appreciate smaller engine displacement bikes.
The new CBR250RR also boasts a refined engine design, including an increased compression ratio, larger inlet port throat diameter, optimized piston and oil ring tension, and updated valve timing and lift. These enhancements contribute to a more powerful and controllable acceleration, making the bike both responsive and smooth.
The combustion chamber volume has been reduced from 7.55 to 7.00 cm³, altering the compression ratio from 12.1 to 12.5. The inlet port throat diameter has been enlarged from 21.4 to 21.6 mm to increase intake capacity, while optimized piston and oil ring tensions reduce friction, enhancing overall engine performance.
A major upgrade to the CBR250RR is the Separate Function Fork – Big Piston (SFF-BP) inverted front suspension. This advanced suspension system stabilizes the damping force and allows more freedom of load shifting during sports riding, enhancing both handling and ride comfort. It features the upside-down SHOWA suspension with 130 mm strokes, Φ37-slide pipe, and a re-set spring rate, providing stability and agility across various riding conditions.
Maintaining previous CBR features are Assist and slipperTM clutch, which reduces clutch lever operation load and prevents rear wheel hop during rapid downshifting. Quick shifter allows for seamless gear changes without clutch or throttle operations, enhancing riding precision and comfort. This feature is particularly beneficial for riders on the circuit, allowing them to focus on the next corner without the distraction of frequent clutch operations.
A 2-channel ABS provides reliable braking on various road surfaces, while the Throttle- By-Wire (TBW) system offers three riding modes—Sport+, Sport, and Comfort—allowing riders to customize their riding experience with settings easily switched using the MODE switch on the left handlebar.
The new CBR250RR embodies the ‘aggressive speedy shape’ concept, featuring a forward-leaning posture, sharp edges, and a dense body structure that echoes larger motorcycles. The optimized cowl geometries and advanced aerodynamics reduce air resistance by 6%, providing superior performance and a striking appearance.
